We've moved!

Yay! Spence and I have been waiting a long time for this - we kept putting it off so we could keep paying things off - and we've finally gotten into our own place again.

It may not be fancy and it may not be big, but it's our new home and we couldn't be happier.

I feel like I need to publicly thank all the people that showed up to help us move - it was amazing. They had the truck loaded at one location and unloaded at the other in less than three hours. I don't know where we'd be without our fantastic friends and neighbors in our ward. Actually, we'd probably just be unloading the truck still...

It seems like we've been working constantly to unpack, but boxes keep popping up out of nowhere and it seems like there is always more to do. It's a good thing our cable doesn't get installed until tomorrow because otherwise we might not have made as much progress as we have; although the cable will be a welcome addition - as was the internet - if for nothing more than a relaxation device.

As part of the move, we purchased some new furniture. We've been saving up for new couches for the past year and we found a great one at Ikea. I know it's not glamorous, but the best part (and really the only thing I needed to know about them) is that the couch and cushions have removable covers that are machine-washable. With a 2-year-old like Jameson who is constantly on the go (even while eating) this was a must.

Lastly - I don't think I ever really made this announcement on the blog yet, so in case you didn't know, we're expecting a girl! I'm thrilled (even though I've known through the entire pregnancy and before - long story) that we are having a girl. I'm so excited to have some more feminine energy in the house. It seems like I'm surrounded by planes, trains and cars all the time. Plus, I think having a younger sibling would help Jameson to learn some valuable lessons in life - starting with soft touches (these two words do not exist in his vocabulary, nor does he want them to). I'm still working on the concept that when he hits, it hurts other people. It should be an interesting next few months.

He is progressing though, he'll be two and a half in a little over a month. He's learned a lot of new words, and attempts to put them into sentences, but most of the time you just hear a lot of mumbling with a few words that you can recognize. We've also ditched the pacifier (except for whenever he's in his crib). I think I'll save that stage for a little later. He just gets so excited to go to bed and take naps now that I think if I got rid of the it, he might just stop sleeping all together... and he would too, just to spite me. He is nothing if not defiant. My mom says he's the spitting image of me as a child, so I guess karma really does come for you.

And because I have the worst luck in the world, there will be no pictures in this entry either - I know it's been a while. It turns out that our new camera requires a super special cord to download to a computer - whatever happened to using a standard connection? I have about a million of those cords lying around, but not the one that I apparently need and that does not come with the camera. Boo...

And you can thank my lack of sleep for the aimless musings of this post... just in case you were wondering.
