We take Jameson on little errands when we can to get him out of the house and get some energy out. The other day we took him to Krispy Kreme. We pass it several times a week and Jamie always points it out and asks for a donut. It's right next to our oil change place and so every time Spence takes the car in, he brings Jameson along and then walks over to get a donut while they're waiting for the car. Usually I don't feed him any high-sugar foods, but every once in a while I will make an exception. So we decided we'd have a doughnut day and let him eat a donut. He was daring and even tried a bite of a chocolate frosted donut. It is funny to watch him eat so much sugar. He would take a bite and start dancing around. I tried my best to get it on camera, but of course I only caught the tail-end of him dancing. But it's a cute video anyway.
Today was my last day of work for at least 6 weeks. It's comforting to know I'm finished for a while, but it's going to be weird to not have to constantly check my emails over and over again. In fact, I'm already a bit bored. I wonder how many books I'll get through just over the weekend since I spend a lot of time resting in bed per my doctor's orders. My contractions are so frequent that they want me to do basically nothing as often as possible. And no, I have no idea whether or not I'm dilated. One of the best things about having a c-section is not having to get checked (unless you want to - but seriously, who wants that?). I have no signs of labor except for the contractions so rest is all I really need. I think I can handle it for 3 more days.
Other than that, I'm really not nervous about the surgery or anything. I'm actually looking forward to a quiet hospital stay with lots of movies and books and resting (in between all the blood draws and stomach kneading). My doctor assures me frequently that he is "very good at c-sections." It's comforting to hear someone so sure of themselves when it comes to surgeries. I think in any other facet of life that statement might be irritating or awkward, but in this case, definitely not. In fact, half the reason I picked this doctor is because of the recommendations by former patients who've all had fantastic c-sections with this guy. So other than the fact that I have to be at the hospital at 5am (major bleh) I will be very happy to come in and have the surgery. Plus, I get a baby out of it and I don't have to be pregnant anymore after Tuesday. These are all very good things.
Oh and our anniversary is Monday. That should be fun... we're not really sure what I will or won't be able to do on Monday. Our fallback plans are to go to Gold Class since they have fantastic gigantic recliners and lots of yummy food to eat while you watch movies. Our only problem is the lack of movie options. We're limited to Green Lantern or Super 8 - any opinions??
I'll be sure to post pictures of everything from the hospital - there's wi-fi there so I should be able to keep the blog up to date and watch plenty of movies. Wish me luck...
